West Bank Settler Terrorism

The ethnic cleansing of Palestinian communities across the Occupied West Bank continues at pace, if anything, intensifying as Israel carries out its bombing of Iran and Lebanon, and continues its genocide in Gaza, in the hope that its total erasure of Palestinian communities will go unnoticed.

  • Since Israel’s occupation of Gaza and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, first began in June 1967, Israel’s ruthless policies of land confiscation, illegal settlement and dispossession, coupled with rampant institutionalized discrimination, have inflicted immense suffering on Palestinians, depriving them of their basic rights. This military occupation is a key component of a cruel system of apartheid that oppresses and dominates all Palestinians whose rights Israel controls. (Amnesty)

  • According to the UN (OCHA), between 7 October 2023 and 15 March 2026, 1,071 Palestinians – at least 233 of them children – were killed in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem. Of these, 25 have been killed since the beginning of 2026 and these assaults are increasing.

Much of the Israeli produce on our supermarket shelves is produced on illegally occupied, i.e. stolen land. We must act to stop this illegal settlement trade.

The UK must take concrete steps to halt imports, as Israel escalates state violence in the West Bank and accelerates its unlawful plans for annexation, and more widespread violations of international law. Every day the Secretary of State for Business and Trade fails to stop imports of goods from illegal settlements the UK is breaching its international law obligations and exposing the British public to potential involvement in money laundering.

In March 2026, 21 UK, international, and Palestinian civil society organisations, including UK trade unions, have written to the government to demand a total ban on imports of goods produced in Israel’s illegal settlements.

This follows a demand by 119 MPs last week for further sanctions against Israel and an end to illegal settlement trade.

Jordan Valley

For generations, Palestinian families in the Jordan Valley lived from small family farms. Their main livelihood was sheep herding on open hills with natural grazing that fed the flocks most of the year. Natural pasture is the healthiest food for the animals. Today, this way of life has become impossible. In Area C of the West Bank, settlers—supported by Israeli authorities—block Palestinian shepherds from reaching grazing land. Shepherds are forced to buy extremely expensive animal feed while facing daily harassment, theft, and violence. Step by step, communities are broken and forced to leave.

“We will establish sovereignty … first on the ground, and then, through legislation. I intend to legalise the young settlements [illegal outposts]....My life’s mission is to thwart the establishment of a Palestinian state.”
